View all treatmentsSome appointments are easier when the person across from you is a woman. A smear test, a coil fitting, a conversation about menopause symptoms — these are not things most women want to sit on a waiting list for.
Dr Emily Arthurs (BSc, MBChB, MRCGP) sees women at our Dunfermline clinic for contraception and coil fitting, HRT and menopause care, heavy periods, and general GP concerns. Appointments are usually available within the week, with no referral needed.
Dr Emily Arthurs has fifteen years in medicine, eight of them as a General Practitioner. Before medicine she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Science with a moderatorship in Neuroscience.
Women’s health is a particular focus of her practice. She is a member of the British Menopause Society and the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, and has completed the British Menopause Society Management of the Menopause Certificate — a specialist qualification for clinicians with a dedicated interest in menopause care. She is currently working towards the Menopause Care Professional Diploma with the College of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare.
Alongside menopause and HRT, Dr Emily Arthurs fits intrauterine devices (coils) for contraception, for the management of heavy menstrual bleeding, and as part of hormone replacement therapy.
Dr Emily Arthurs sees patients at The Canmore Clinic on Thursdays, from 3 September 2026.
